Ireland Calling

"Ireland Calling"

10 x 20

I don't have a lot of desire to travel to other countries, but Ireland is one of the places I would love to visit. This landscape is part of the Virtual Paintout contest. It is a fun contest that gives you a place on the planet to visit with Google Maps' Street View feature. You travel the area and look for a fun place to paint. When I saw this view I knew I had to paint it. Very serene and the famous Ireland green.

  1. Dear Karla,
What a beautiful blog. I saw your painting on the Virtual Paintout FB page and linked here. The music sets such a lovely tone for your work and words.
Happy Holidays to you and your family, and snowy greetings from Maine.

  3. I visited Ireland last year. It was magnificent. I couldn't get over the "ruralness" of it for being such an old country. I live in Maine and Ireland is about the size of Maine. As we drove and took thousands of photos I was awestruck by the beauty. The coastline is truly breathtaking. The people were so friendly and laid back. We felt relaxed and welcomed. My husband would move there in a heartbeat if I said yes...
