I grew up with horses. This painting really strikes a chord with me. I know that feeling of love for such a graceful and beautiful animal.
For my artist friends:
This is a very large painting. It was a little intimidating to get started. Finally I just decided to paint the end of the horses nose as if it were a small painting. Once I got started there it was easy to move to other parts of the painting.
It's beautiful! And such a powerful composition! You did a great job conveying the bond between the two.
