Preparing to Teach

"Cherries and Pewter"
5 X 7
Oil on Panel

Bid in Auction

I have finally found some time to paint!!  Summer has been busy and I was also lacking in inspiration.  It feels good to be back in the studio.  The reference photo for this painting was graciously given by Lillian Bell.  I have painted from her beautiful photography before.

I am in the process of finalizing dates to teach a new student.  She saw me at my last fine art fair and later e-mailed me to see if I would be interested in teaching.  So I have been busy writing up an outline for the class and getting ready.  I have taught before, but I am realizing that every time I teach I am in a new place with my own art and have to make adjustments to compensate for the new information I have taken in.

Hope you are all having a fantastic summer!

  1. This is a beautiful painting, Karla! The cherries make me want to reach out and pick one up! Your student is very fortunate to have found such a fun-loving and creative teacher. Best wishes to you both!
