Amy's Daughter
5 X 7
Oil on Hardboard |
Here is the finished painting for Amy's Daughter. Having the drawing down (see previous post) was definately a life saver for this painting. I know some can draw with paint and some don't draw at all, but I need that to give me a firm foundation for paintings like this. But I don't draw with a pencil for all of my paintings. Most still life paintings don't require this level of exactness to execute.
I chose this picture because of a lot of things. I like the arch in her body, the motion of the rope ladder. The fact that all the lines lead you to her cute little face. And of course her personality. I think Amy has a little "tom boy" in the making. Which I like, because I was a tom boy!
You've brought out the impish quality in this sweet little girl. Lovely. : )
