I am continuing to apply what I am learning from the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". I am still adding some slight changes to this drawing, but I am getting close. Speaking of getting close, I read on someone's blog ( sorry, I didn't mark it, I read over 300 a week). Anyway, this person was at a two week art workshop and said that the first week was devoted to drawing. The instructors said "Don't let yourself say "close enough", get it right!". That is a real challenge for me 'cause I'm a "that's close enough" kind of person.
Here is the picture I am working from. My son's girlfriend asked me to try and paint it. Hopefully I will have a successful painting to show next.

ReplyDeleteI've just done the first three exercises (self portrait, someone else from memory, and sadly, my hand). The only one that looks even remotely right is the self portrait. Sigh...And it sure isn't pretty.
