I have had two requests recently to paint cardinals so I painted this little painting this morning.  At first I was afraid of the brightness of the red but then realized cardinals are very  bright!!  How fun to do!

    Such a beautiful piece, Karla! The tree bark is just spot on perfection! And I so love cardinals (and blue jays) for their crested heads and gorgeous coloring!

    Ah...Azra, you are very astute! I basically continued with the limited palette from the DPW challenge substituting cad red medium for cad red light which was too orange for the cardinal.
