Thank Heaven for Naptime

"Chubby Bartlett Pear"

5 X 7
Oil on double-primed hardboard

While grandson #1 was at kindergarten, grandson #2 was at pre-school, and grandson #3 was taking a morning nap, I slipped into the studio and painted this chubby pear.  I think pears are my favorite fruit to paint.

On another personal note:  My hubby and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary yesterday.  It is hard to believe we have been married that long. Time sure does fly!  We have definitely had our ups and downs, but I am so glad we stuck it out during the rough times.  But by God's grace we are still together and happier than ever that we are.

Here is how this painting might look framed.

  1. Happy anniversary! And I love the chubby pear! The shadow, especially, is exquisitely done! I also love the reddish glow on the edge of the pear!
