8 X 10
Well, here is the "finished" portrait.  I still may go back and fix a couple of things.

It was my typical experience with painting a portrait.  Somewhere in the middle I felt pretty hopeless.  But after two return visits and updating it started to pull together.  Is it perfect?  No.  Is it Annie?  Yes.

Here is how it looks framed

  1. Wow!Karla, you have captured her fresh skin tone so well. The drawing practice has really worked.

  2. Karla, she is beautiful! What an awesome job you did on her portrait! I'll bet she'll be so proud of this! I know I am quite proud of you myself. Thank you for not being offended. I rarely do any critiques because who am I too critique anyone? I've got wonky on my side 100% of the time. Still, you didn't make me feel awful for the suggestions and it looks as though you agreed with me. The end result is absolutely amazing! Beautiful job!

  3. Thanks Azra! She does have beautiful skin. Peaches and Cream.

  4. Thanks Sherry! I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. And thanks for your suggestions! Norman Rockwell used to ask his wife and friends for their opinions all the time. I might start doing that as well. What are friends for - right?
