Here is my painting from the Daily Paintworks Value Challenge.  (See previous post).  As you can see I went with the 3rd lighter background option.  I am happy with that decision.  As you can also see I ditched the peony.  It just wasn't working.  Even if I could have painted it well I don't think it would have looked right.

This watering can was another garage sale find.  $1.00!  I think this prop will be in more paintings in the future.

    Having said the first option i think you we're right to go with this one.You understood the challenge perfectly and your painting has come out beautifully.

    The colours are wonderful, and the whole thing is just gorgeous. Good idea to leave out the peony; it really wasn't adding anything to the composition.
