Garlic Bulb

Garlic Bulb

5 X 7
Oil on panel

I have had a bowl of garlic in my studio for about a month waiting to be painted.  I was trying out a new easel contraption I made to try and hold my panels vertical while I paint so I don't distort the perspective and grabbed a garlic bulb to paint.

Here is a tip I saw over at Becky Joy's Blog:  It is one of those things where you go. "Why didn't I think of that!"

She puts a ziplock bag inside her medium jar.  That way when she pours the clear medium off the top and has all of the grunge in the bottom, she just lifts out the bag and throws it away.  Genius!  I am forever getting grunge on my hands trying to wipe out the bottom of the jar.

Here is how today's painting might look framed.
