Good-Bye Toby

I haven't posted for a few days.  I can't paint when I 'm sad and depressed.  We lost our dog Toby.  He was hit by a car.  At first we thought we were going to be able to nurse him through, but in the end he lost all feeling in his hind legs.  We will miss him.  He had his "quirks" but he was very lovable.

  5. I'm so very sorry and saddened to learn of the loss of your beloved Toby. I know how this feels - it's happened to me more times than I want to remember. Just know that your Toby knew that he was loved so very much by you, and that love was reciprocated. Know that he is just waiting for you over at the Rainbow Bridge, playing happily with his friends who are also there. He is healthy, he is happy. Just like my Mollie girl, that I had to say goodbye to three years ago (she died in my arms after a second massive stroke). She knew she was loved, and she knew I loved her enough to not want her to suffer or be in any more pain, and that because of that love, I whispered to her that it was okay...that she could go. It's the only downside to having a pet - the inevitable fact that they don't live as long as we humans do, and that we have to say goodbye to them much sooner than we can bear to. The heartbreak is profound, I know. But just know that Toby knows you loved him so very much, and that he will live in your heart, alive and well, in your memories, and in your love for him. I've lit a candle for him, as I have done for my Mollie girl, and all my beautiful furry companions that I've had to say goodbye to over the years. With much love and a heavy heart for your loss.

  6. June, Thank you so much for your kind words of comfort. I am still feeling the effects of losing Toby. I haven't been able to paint much; I just have no motivation. I'm sure life will get back to "normal" soon. Karla
