I should be cleaning house and decorating the tree but, you know how that goes!
I have had my eye on this garage sale find for quite a while. Painting it was not quite the challenge that I thought it would be. I knew I would need some help with the drawing so I used the free program Accurasee to place a grid over the photo that I took. I adjusted the grid to fit a 5 x 7 panal. Then I printed out free graph paper with 1/2" grid and began drawing with a graphite pencil. Once I was happy with the drawing I then transferred it to the hardboard using good 'ol carbon paper. (carbon does not bleed through oil paints). And then began painting. Fun, fun fun.

What a fun painting Karla! Love the contours and colours and the background gives this real depth.
