Pear on Pedestal

These very dramatic paintings are hard to photograph and get all of the rich detail. This is pretty close. This is my entry in Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge. I can't believe it has been 13 days already! This challenge has really helped to fill the long winter days of January. One added benefit I hadn't expected was I weighed less when I stepped on the scale today. Nice. I guess I am painting more and eating less.
Here is how today's painting might look framed. |

This is so classic and the center composition really works!
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic! Beautifully done, simple and classic. Yesterday's Egg Basket is also beautifully done! Wondering if you are using your 'color checker'? I made one yesterday but no chance to use it yet.:)
ReplyDeleteI did both from photos. Good luck with your color checker. Let me know how it goes.
DeleteNicely done Karla!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I like the painting vs eating comment...perhaps every time I get the urge to snack I should go paint. When I paint I can go for hours with no food or drink so I think it has merit!
This is gorgeous, Karla! It has been exciting to watch your progress in Leslie's challenge. Fantastic work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Karla! Very dramatic composition and color.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, regal pear...wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThe pear taking centre stage gives this great drama!! Beautiful work Karla!! I definitely need to paint more, maybe I'll lose some weight too. : )
ReplyDeleteDramatic Pear indeed..No boring still life here!!! : )
ReplyDeleteBeautifully painted, Karla! One of my favorite paintings of the whole challenge!
