Welcome Home  8 X 10 Oil on Hardboard

This is the painting I did for the winner of my last giveaway. "A free 8 X 10 Oil Painting of a Cherished Home".  It is now in the drying room and will be shipped to Pennsylvania very soon.
I want to surprise the recipient by not showing her a picture of the painting until she opens the package, but if she reads my blog then "Surprise Jane!"

Here are the reference photos I had to work with.

I intended to paint a portrait of a whole house, but when I saw the pictures I was really drawn to paint just the porch.  Jane had sent me an extra picture to make sure I knew she had painted the porch door yellow.  And one of her kids in case I wanted to paint them peeking out the window or something.

Well I didn't paint the kiddos but I did add their cute little dog.  I thought it added to the theme of the painting
