Grist Mill

Grist Mill
6 X 8
Oil on panal

This is my entry to the Daily PaintWorks newest challenge created by Jean Nelson.  I just couldn't pass this one up.  The reference photo was really beautiful.  Looking at this painting I am reminded of what Susan Carlin said when she opened my painting in progress during her workshop.  "Well Karla, I see you are not afraid of color!".  Well, I guess she is right.  My walls in my home are full of color and we love it.  My living room is a sunny buterscotch yellow and my kitchen is a rich red.  My paintings tend to reflect my love of bold colors.  I just let loose with this one.  Very fun to paint.

Here is how it might look framed

  1. Fantastic brushwork Karla! The colours you chose really go so well together and give this scene life and energy.
