I haven't painted for a few days while I have been framing my art to get ready for my first public showing at the end of the month, so I thought I better pick up a brush today.  It took three attempts to get something I liked.  Do you ever get that anxious feeling when you come back from a break and think that you have forgotten everything you have learned?  I sure do!

I found this little bowl at a garage sale for 50 cents.  Two days later I found a matchig pitcher with the same burnt sienna glaze at a garage sale for a dollar.  I love garage sales!

Here is how it might look framed.

  1. Forget about clothes shopping! This is retail therapy when you can pick a real bargain and create a wonderful painting from it.

  2. Gorgeous palette, Karla! Love the addition of the leaves and it looks awesome framed! Where are you showing? Maybe for once I can get to meet up with a fellow blogger! Plus? I so love art shows/fairs/festivals!

  3. Thanks Sherry! It is the Reagan Festival in Eureka Illinois. (Ronald Reagan went to college in Eureka). The festival is August 26th and 27th. It would be AWSOME if you could come and we could meet in person!! If not, maybe I can make it your way sometime and we can do lunch.

  4. I do believe I'm not all that far from Eureka and Michael and I have been through Dixon numerous times ourselves (he used to have to fix equipment at a hospital out there). So...I'm trying to mentally set the date in my head so I don't forget! And? I just wrote it down! Can't wait!
