However, there are those who think that if art is worth doing it is worth taking the time to do. See James' article over at Gurney Journey here which talks about slowing down. The producer of the vidoe says "there is enough fast food and fast art in the world"
So, does slower painting equate to better art?
What do you think?
Here is how it might look framed |
Nicely done, Karla. I don't know about slowing down too much as I will get bored and stagnate. When something excites me I have to dive in and almost attack it until it is done and if I belabor over it I almost always mess it up. Type A personality painter, yup, that's me.
ReplyDeleteI just love that you are able to paint, Karla. I am so bogged down in fatigue and having little time to myself that nothing has been getting done. My biggest frustration. This is a delightfully cheery piece!
ReplyDeleteGreat painting Karla! I do find the same as well, something that has been easy and quick tends to be better recieved. It might have something to do with how you're feeling when painting??If there's frustration and you get tired of it,this might show in the finished piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. I agree, if I spend too much time I find a way to mess it up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, hope you find some time and energy to do your art
ReplyDeleteAzra, That is really insightful! I once heard an artist say to only paint when you are feeling happy. Maybe there is something to that.
